Fried Chicken & Waffles

Fried Chicken & Waffles

My take on the southern classic dish Fried Chicken and Waffles. Fried Chicken and Waffles are typically served with syrup and some type of gravy; my way of Fried Chicken and Waffles includes vanilla bean infused Maple Syrup and Red Devil Hot Sauce! The crunchy fried chicken is served over Birch Bender's Buttermilk Pancake Mix.

Plăcintă (Fried Cheese Dough)

Plăcintă (Fried Cheese Dough)

Plăcintă and Khachapuri are the inspiration behind this fried cheese dough that tastes like a blend of a mozzarella cheese stick, a croissant, a biscuit, and cheesy breadstick all in one. This is incredibly simple to make and doesn't take too long. Make this the next time you want something other than breadsticks and garlic toast to pair with your pasta!

Ground Beef & Parmesan Reggiano Fall Zuchette Pasta

Ground Beef & Parmesan Reggiano Fall Zuchette Pasta

The most adorable pasta shape that is known to man, Fall Zuchette Pasta. Trader Joe’s makes a killer Autumn Harvest sauce with Pumpkin, Butternut Squash, and Tomatoes. When paired with ground beef, tomato paste, and parmesan cheese it resembles Hamburger Helper, but it tastes so much better (and it’s healthier!).

Roasted Garlic Chicken Alfredo Chickpea Pasta

Roasted Garlic Chicken Alfredo Chickpea Pasta

My favorite thing about pasta is that it is so comforting. Since it’s the fall, I’ve been really into cooking meals that are cozy and will fill me up. Pasta is the perfect meal for that. Pasta, in my humble opinion, always taste SO much better the day after it’s cooked. When the sauce really seeps into the noodles, it’s to die for.

Loukoumades (Greek Honey Donuts)

Loukoumades (Greek Honey Donuts)

Yes, these are the best damn donuts that I have ever had in my life. I had to hide these from myself. It’s pretty much impossible to not binge these donuts. Once you have one, you’re going to keep going back for more. They’re a little crunchy on the outside and in the inside they’re so soft and fluffy. I can’t even put into words how amazing these donuts are.

Vanilla Mascarpone Scones

Vanilla Mascarpone Scones

Hey guys! Yesterday, I just felt like baking and frying for some strange reason. I made a pumpkin butter tart with the left over dough from these scones, my weird version of Loukoumades, and these scones here. I didn’t have a precise recipe for these desserts, I just went in my kitchen and put together a dough. I knew that I didn’t want to create any cookies or cakes, I was focusing on dough based sweets.

Roasted Turkey Thighs

Roasted Turkey Thighs

I know that this post is a bit too early! Thanksgiving is no time soon. But, I saw these Turkey Thighs at the grocery store and knew I needed to make something with them. I’ve never made Turkey Thighs before. You may be a little sick of me mentioning that, but your girl is experimenting all Fall 2018. It’s all about testing out new recipes and seeing what works and what doesn’t. And this recipe definitely works.

Autumn Harvest Spaghetti Squash

Autumn Harvest Spaghetti Squash

Can you believe that this is my first time trying Spaghetti Squash? I know, you’re judging me. But, seriously.. it’s my first time eating it. I’m honestly upset that i haven’t tried it before. It pairs so well with cheese and sauce. But, then again… what doesn’t pair well with cheese and sauce?

Cilantro Honey Chipotle Wings

Cilantro Honey Chipotle Wings

These are officially my favorite way to cook chicken wings. This sauce is perfect. If you’re someone that prefers a spicier sauce, use less honey! I added more honey so that my daughter could eat these wings. The sauce combined with the char from the grill, oh my god, my mouth is watering just typing this! Haha. When it comes to wings and sauces, I love my sauces to be either spicy or sweet and spicy. I don’t like Garlic Parmesan wings, I know, you’re totally judging me right now. I love all three separately, but I have never tried those wings and liked them from anyone. I guess it’s because I don’t think it’s the right cheese used and normally it has way too much damn garlic. I love garlic just as much as anybody else, but I don’t want to be hit in the face with garlic.

Muenster Cheese Pork Chops

Muenster Cheese Pork Chops

Welcome back! A few nights ago, I made these amazing Muenster Cheese topped Pork Chops. Normally, I make my pork chops fried or topped in a Balsamic Glaze, so this is a new recipe for me! Muenster Cheese is used here instead of traditional cheddar or mozzarella because of the sharp, but bland taste. Muenster is mostly similar to Monterey Jack. I love using cheeses like Muenster or Monterey Jack because I’m not a huge fan of super strong tasting cheeses. If I have a strong tasting cheese, I try and pair the cheese with dishes that will overpower the strength of the cheese.

Simple Mills Banana Muffins (Featuring Pumpkin, Espresso, & Chocolate Chips)

Simple Mills Banana Muffins (Featuring Pumpkin, Espresso, & Chocolate Chips)

Normally, I make my banana bread from scratch since I always have way too many bananas in my house. Banana bread gets a bad reputation due to it usually having a lot of added sugars. The good thing about this mix from Simple Mills is that it does not have a million unnecessary sugars added. It’s naturally delicious. And, no I am not sponsored by them. I’m just a regular person just like you that bought this mix after seeing it in the Grocery store. Haha.

Maple Vanilla Butter Crescent Rolls

Maple Vanilla Butter Crescent Rolls

So, I’ve never been much of a baker. Occasionally, I will do it, but I don’t have much experience with it. I prefer to cook because it’s way easier and requires less attention to detail. I don’t feel confident as a baker yet, but I’m still going to tell you how I achieved these crescents. Give me a few more months of steady baking and I will be able to reinvent some recipes the way that I do with savory foods!

Feta, Tomato & Basil Pizza + Pesto & Tomato Pizza

Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! For years, pizza was my favorite food because I didn’t have it often and whenever I had it, it would always be absolutely delicious. Foods that I don’t have often (such as lobster, prime rib, oxtail) are so much better than they are because I don’t eat them all the time.
