Gingerbread Oatmeal (With Peanut Butter, Bananas, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Marshmallows)

So, I have started using a new template for my recipe. I want everyone to let me know what they think of my new method of posting. Is it easier for you guys to follow with this new layout? I think it may work better this way.  

I've never been camping before. I am not a fan of animals and I cannot stand bugs. Growing up, the closest I ever was to a wood fire was through my fireplace. I never got to roast some marshmallows and use a tent for any reason. But after making this bowl, that was the first thing that came to mind. On television, I saw a lot of combinations like this eaten whenever the person was camping. So, since I purchased some cookie dough marshmallows, I wanted to create something with that aesthetic.

I bought these marshmallows because I saw them on Instagram and I was dying to get them in my life. Cookie Dough is my favorite food honestly. I could eat an entire container of cookie dough by myself. Before I changed my diet, I would make myself a bowl of raw cookie dough (no eggs or raw flour, the safe kind) daily. My addiction to cookie dough got so bad to the point where I banned myself from purchasing chocolate chips. I haven't had the cookie dough in awhile now, so this satisfied the craving that I have been having for months now! 

On another note, I want you to know that this bowl of oatmeal is very rich. I wasn't able to finish this entire bowl, so if you need to create something for yourself or your kids that will have leftovers - this is the bowl for you! It is overwhelmingly sweet, you can combat this by not using the maple syrup in the oats.

Gingerbread Oatmeal

Traditional oatmeal gets a campfire makeover. Blackstrap Molasses, Maple Syrup, Cinnamon, and Ginger paired with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Marshmallows, Peanut Butter, and Banana. A delicious new take on oatmeal.

ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 tbsp Blackstrap Molasses 
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Organic Peanut Butter
  • 1  Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Marshmallow (From XO Marshmallow)
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger 

instructions:

  1. Add your oats to a microwave bowl (or pot) and add all ingredients except the peanut butter, banana, marshmallow, and peanut butter. Cook the oatmeal according to instructions.
  2. Remove from microwave or pot and top with bananas, peanut butter drizzle, and marshmallow

NOTES:

Add Nutmeg to elevate this.
For crunch, you can add granola or some type of nuts.
