Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Do these Lemon Pork Chops have what it takes to replace the cult favorite Lemon Pepper Wings? I think these may give the wings a run for it's money.

These pork chops remind me of Summer. Last night, I made a watermelon mozzarella arugula salad and I wanted something summery to go with it. I wasn't in the mood for traditional chicken wings, plus I didn't have any wings defrosted to make them in the first place. I had purchased some chops from Trader Joe's and they were sitting in the refrigerator, I wanted to make something different with. Normally, I marinate Pork Chops in balsamic, soy sauce, and Worcestershire - or I fry them. Lemon Pepper is a flavor that I enjoy on everything. It tastes amazing on Chicken, Fries, Zucchini, Flatbreads, and even some fruits!

Prep time:

Cook time:

  • 2 Bone In Pork Chops *
  • 2 Organic Lemons
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • Trader Joe's Olive Oil Cooking Spray (just to keep food from sticking, you can subsitute for butter)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Herbs De Provence
  • Roasted Garlic Powder
  • Mrs Dash' Lemon Pepper Seasoning
  • Optional: Earth Balance Butter to cook the Pork Chops in.

  1. Before you begin, get out all of the ingredients necessary for this recipe. Chop the lemons, if you're going to be using garlic (chop the garlic), chop the onions (if you're going to be using them, I didn't. This recipe is customizable.). Get out a skillet (you can use cast iron for a crispier crust), and add your Cooking Spray. While your pan is preheating (turn to medium btw!), preheat your oven to 375.
  2. Add the juice of 1 lemon into a small bowl with Mrs' Dash Lemon Pepper Seasoning, Pepper, Garlic Powder, and Black Pepper. Then, season both sides of your Chops with Garlic Powder, Salt, Black Pepper, and Herbs de Provence. When your pan finally gets hot, add your pork chops and sear on both sides for around 2 minutes. After searing, top with lemon juice mixture and place in the oven for 5 minutes. Then, proceed to top your tsp of ghee on top of the chops. You can top with the lemons from the second lemon, if you'd like.
  3. Remove from oven and place on stove again. Remove the topped lemons and allow the chops to sear for 2 minutes on both sides. I know this sounds like overkill, but I promise you that these chops are super tender. I don't like my Chops to be rare or medium, these chops were medium well so that they didn't end up tough. You can cook for way less.
  4. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *NOTE >> You can use boneless chops if you would like to. I prefer Pork Chops to have the bone in due to the fact the bone helps with flavor purposes. You also can double the recipe if needed. I only made two. ALSO, I season to taste.. I do not measure my seasonings.
